History

Kottoor Technical and Welfare Association Private ITI, is a Christian Minority institution at Kottoor, Sreekandapuram, Kannur, under the management of St. Thomas Province of the Little Flower Congregation (CST Fathers) (Society Reg. No.431/1985). Little Flower Congregation (CST Fathers) is a Religious Institute of Pontifical Status under the Patronage of St. Therese of Lisieux. It was founded in Kerala in 1931 by late Rev. Fr. Basilius Panat to work for the total development of the rural people. He himself started the Congregation in a very remote village called Mookkannur and he worked hard for its integral development. Our mission is "be little, serve the little". 'Be little' signifies imbibing the attitude of childlike simplicity, love, trust and absolute surrender to God. “The little" symbolizes the poor, the marginalized and the disadvantaged sections in the society. Our mission is to be little and render service to the little enabling our solidarity with them to establish God's reign. This community aims at upliftment of the rural through education, spiritual formation following the spirituality of St. Therese coupled with the Charism of the Founder Fr. Basilus Panattu. Since 1967 the congregation is engaged in the field of technical training for the youth and has a number of technical and non- formal technical training institutions in different parts of the country.

Realizing the need for imparting technical education to the youth and also with a view to uplift the rural areas of Kerala, the CST Congregation started Kottoor Technical and Welfare Association (I.T.C Kottoor) in the year 1978. This institute has established itself as a benchmark of excellence in technical education in the northern parts of Kerala. Kottoor Pvt. ITI is situated near Sreekandapuram, Kannur, Kerala and is affiliated to NCVT Gov. of India. It is a notable school of Technical and Industrial Training with committed faculty, high quality infrastructure, teaching aids, and provides a serene atmosphere that complements academic life. Our academic Programs are aimed at creating skilled technicians who can contribute to the highly dynamic and competitive world of technology.

Education Policy of CST Fathers

We the CST Fathers, following the foot print of our founder very Rev Fr. Basilius, consider education to be the fundamental formation of the human being for the realization of his/her individual and social responsibilities.
We envisage the society wherein, the dignity of the human person is respected, where the unjust social structures are challenged, where our cultural heritage, the proverbial, religious harmony and national integration are upheld and where the poor and the marginalized are specially taken care of.
Our educational endeavours focus on moulding for tomorrow’s world leaders who are intellectually competent, spiritually mature, morally upright, physiologically integrated, physically healthy and socially acceptable; who will champion the cause of justice, love truth and peace and who are ever open to further growth.
